The Signage You Need to Succeed at Your Conference
Industry conferences are a fantastic opportunity to network with your fellow colleagues, promote your business or brand, and sell your products and services. However, a significant number of resources are required.
Particularly if you are new to the conference world, or don’t have much experience coordinating a conference stall, planning for a conference can be quite daunting. One of the biggest considerations is what signage you will use to decorate your area at the conference.
The most popular signs for conferences include display banners, pull up banners and tear drop banners. At Global Signs, we have also helped customers with printing custom acrylic signs, building signs, 3D signs and laser cut signs for their conference stall.
Before ordering your signs, some considerations include:
- The size of your space at the conference. It’s vital that you know what space you are working within to help determine how many signs you need, and what will be best suited to the shape of the area. You don’t want too many signs as this will be overbearing. You also don’t want to have too much empty space. Work with the event organisers and seek out the exhibitor manual.
- Entering and exiting the conference. Once you know the venue, you should consider whether there will be easy access to the conference space. You may need to transport the equipment to the conference on your own person, or there may be options to have it freighted in and out. Find out, as this may guide your decisions.
- Re-use of the signage. To get the best bang for buck from your signage, you might like to consider designing ‘evergreen’ business signs that will be appropriate to use at future conferences or other purposes.
- Great design choices. The importance of great design cannot be underestimated. Make sure you work with a talented graphic designer to develop your signage, and get it printed by Sydney sign experts to ensure top quality.
Before ordering any signage, it’s important that you talk to the conference coordinator or host to determine if there are any limitations on what you can use. There may be rules or restrictions that limit you from bringing certain signage.
Don’t forget your marketing collateral
Signage isn’t the only thing you need to consider when planning for a conference. It’s essential that you have a wide range of ‘giveaways’ that visitors can take home from your stall. Many businesses will set up some sort of table or stool where they will place all their marketing collateral for visitors to take.
You might like to consider flyers, booklets, stickers, pens or drink bottles that are branded with your businesses logo or contain information about your products/services.
Some conference stalls will even get creative to draw attention to their stall at a conference. This could include a raffle draw or game that encourages visitors to interact with staff manning the stall. If you are a food business, you might like to offer free tastings or show how to cook your products with a demonstration.
